After Xiaomi launched the Redmi Y1, and Redmi Y1 Lite in India last month, the smartphones have seen a bunch of successful sales. With a bunch of other sales kicking off on Flipkart and Amazon India today, the Redmi Y1, and Redmi Y1 Lite will also be available for purchase. Starting 12:00PM today on Amazon India, the two smartphones will be up for a flash sale. The smartphones can also be purchased via Xiaomi’s offline retail partners including Reliance Digital, or on Xiaomi’s own website, mi.com.
For the ones looking to buy, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 comes in two variants, one with 32GB on board storage and 3GB of RAM, which is priced at Rs 8,999, and the other comes with 64GB storage and 4GB of RAM, and that one is priced at Rs 10,999.
The Redmi Y1 Lite, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 6,999, and comes in a single variant. Those planning on buying either of the two smartphones can take advantage of a bunch of offers. These include up to 280GB of 4G data for new Idea Cellular users, and free 12-month subscription of Hungama Music.


Xiaomi Redmi Y1, Redmi Y1 Lite specifications and features

As for what lay beneath the two smartphones, the Xiaomi Redmi Y1 and Redmi Y1 Lite both feature a 5.5-inch HD display. While the Redmi Y1 is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 435 chipset, the Redmi Y1 Lite comes with a Snapdragon 425 quad-core SoC.
For photography, the Redmi Y1 sports a 13-megapixel primary camera with flash, and a 16-megapixel camera on the front. Whereas, the Redmi Y1 Lite sports a 13-megapixel rear camera with PDAF support, and a 5-megapixel snapper up front.
Further, both smartphones come with connectivity options like dual-SIM support, 4G with VoLTE support, Bluetooth, and Wi-Fi. The smartphones also feature a rear fingerprint sensor. Fueling the smartphones is a 3,080mAh battery. Both devices run Android 7.0 Nougat with MIUI 9 on top.
